BIG TURNOUT! Hey, City Hall: Pass Right-to-Counsel in Jersey City!

The rent is too damn high, and Jersey City is facing a housing crisis.

Right now, when tenants go to housing court over illegal evictions, rent raises, and leaving uninhabitable conditions, only 3% of residents are represented by a lawyer while over 80% of landlords have representation. Right-to-Counsel is a policy which would ensure that every tenant has legal representation in housing court; this means more power for working people in Jersey City.

Join us for the ordinance first-reading on Wednesday, April 12th at 6:00PM where it will be officially presented to the city council!

We need to demand that Jersey City's council members pass a tenant's Rent-to-Counsel that is universal, establishes a permanent office, and gets funded by making big corporate developers pay. Come join us at City Hall on Wednesday, April 12th at 6:00PM to show City Council that the community stands united for housing justice!

Before the meeting at City Hall, our campaign will provide everyone with instructions to get on the speaker's list. Will you join us and bring a friend, family member, or neighbor?
